Wip 131113

The state of the bench (intermission in posting/painting due to new offspring). 3 KD saviours with base colours on (to get a feel for the models before I try anything difficult). The Eden model Chelsea just needs a pass over the flesh tones and a base. The Mantic bug (re painted twice, nice sculpt but I couldn't get the colour to work) just needs a black base.

The goblin at the front needs its base finishing, the teratons have a cost if primer, they're test/proxies models for deadzone (due 3 weeks...)

Little progress (+ 1 progeny). The Eden model is great fun to paint, the Mantic bug is horrible (although the new plastic in the dreadball wave 3 looks better).

Hasslefree Demon and Barmaid

Bought on sale from wayland, first attempt at fire:

The model is nice but the wings were a pain to pin. I'm happy how the shield/sword came out, the 'flesh' didn't quite work.

Also bought half price:

I didn't do this one justice, the sculpt is so simple, it paints so easily I wish I'd pushed the dress further. That said the ceramic cake out nicely and as a whole the colour scheme works.

Progress on the enforcer - almost done (although the photo kills the blend in the armour). The dwarf just needs a final wash on the green. The blue bug is a test for the three, going to be dark blue/grey.

And the other wip:

Same set of models, progress on a couple:

Where the work is:

After base coating the armour on the enforcer a grey green I decided the khaki colour worked so greenish/black it is (with a bit of metallic in the green/grey).

The pics not great but the dwarf is moving forward, brown, yellow and armour done, just face and green to do.

Dark Elves

From the completed shelf, 2 Guild of Harmony dark elves, plus an attempt at a scenic base.

The models were great, I really didn't do them justice. I'm happy with the nmm gold on the heroine but the skintones and steel armour at poor. The base almost works, I aimed to extend the osl, however I think a wall or similar behind might have been better. Still, this is the training stage so I called them done and moved on to the next.

Desktop State / Wips:

Currently on the desk (too much…):

90% done:

Kingdom Death White Speaker Pinup - needs more work on flesh tone, tats? A base that can fix the miscast left foot and some osl. So more like 70% but I'm not feeling this one at the minute.

30 % done:

Guild of Harmony Goblin Shaman - I'm going for an earthy, murky look, pretty de-saturated, lots to do yet. Not sure if the yellow/purple balance will work.

Hasslefree River Tam - at least that's who I'm painting. The skin tone is about half way there, I haven't got the dress colour yet, it's just 'off' somehow. Cardi almost done though (An attempt at holey/semi sheer like fabric).

Barely begun:

Dreadball Enforcer (going to be Cerberus inspired test scheme for Deadzone models)

Dwarf (similar scheme to the GoH Goblin but much stronger).

Eden Chelsea (bought at practice model pre Escape (due next month?!)

Primed:

3 Dreadball bugs, primed with Vallejo White Primer, I'm really not sure how well it's covered yet, we'll see...
1 Dark Sword female heroine type.
